Rev. Dr. Monica J. Cross serves as the Minister of Women’s Ministries, Education, and Housing, and is the President of the Board of Directors for the Oakland Peace Center. Born in Los Angeles, she is a retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy, where she served with distinction and developed a leadership style grounded in integrity, discipline, and compassion. Following her military career, Rev. Dr. Cross answered her call to ministry and has become a respected voice in faith-based social justice work, particularly in the areas of transgender advocacy, women’s leadership, and inclusive ministry. She is also an active leader within the Poor People’s Campaign, working to advance economic justice, human dignity, and the rights of marginalized communities.
